What is the charging state of the delivered battery?
The battery cell is usually charged during the production process to verify its operation. The battery must be charged before the first use. Ni-CD batteries must be discharged beforehand to avoid memory effects.
How to maintain the battery?
It depends on the system. For example, nickel-cadmium batteries should always be fully discharged before charging. The best way is to use a charger with discharge function. Occasional "cycling" is good for all batteries: the battery is discharged and charged several times in a row. This will restore performance limited by the memory effect.
Will fast charging damage my battery?
Do not. Charging with a fast charger takes about 1 to 2 hours, which is different from charging with a normal charger for more than 10 hours. However, the relatively high current of fast chargers requires a particularly reliable shutdown immediately after reaching full charge.
